A while back, I actually did think of a very similar idea to Academic Earth, a “youtube for academic lectures”. I decided not to pursue the idea, as it had no clear path to monetization, but i’m certainly glad that someone has created such a service, as a non-profit.

The site does a good job of organizing lecture videos into different course’s as well as providing a grading/rating system for the videos as well as for professors.
